Part I of Lacey's Senior session was planned to take place down at the beach. This is where Lacey enjoys spending her time during the summer. We chose Assateague Island to give her beach and island vibes.
The day of the session there wasn't a cloud in the sky as the sun's rays warmed the sand in Ocean City, MD. We assumed it would be the perfect weather for our evening session especially at the beach. Later that afternoon, an alert came through for a potential thunderstorm to hit at the exact time of our session. We checked the radar and it looked like the storm would miss Assateague so we agreed to take the chance and continue with the session. As we crossed the bridge to Assateague there were a few sporadic rain drops, nothing to fear. It wasn't until we parked the car that all of a sudden it was a monsoon outside: wind whipping, a wall of water, lightning cracking and thunder rolling. After looking at the radar again, it was clear that the storm had completely shifted and showed no sign of letting up. In the direction of Ocean City, the sky line was lighter and just like that we were off racing against the storm. We ended up at a small public beach with the car close in case of a quick departure. No sooner did we start her session and lighting again filled the sky. We called it a night and agreed to meet in the morning, this time at the boardwalk.
The following morning we were blessed with the most breathtaking sunrise and low tide as we walked the oceans edge while capturing beautiful senior images for Lacey.
