I'll take any chance I get to photograph a girl with her beloved horses, so I was beyond excited for Liz's cap and gown session featuring not one but two mares. Liz lives and breathes horses, so having Ember (the beautiful chestnut) and Maya (the flea-bitten grey) be a part of her Part II Senior Summary was truly a no-brainer.
Seeing Liz interact with her horses, it's clear they're her passion. Liz had been diligently working with Ember on her jumping skills, so she wanted to capture their progress. Even though I was a little nervous about the jumping shots, it was awesome to see them in action.
Then Ember and Liz raced across the field for some of the most breathtaking shots I've ever gotten! It was all fun and games until Liz's grass-green tassel flew off and we had to spend 45 minutes combing the pasture for it. Lesson learned: Tassels that are the same beautiful color and texture as your backdrop will camouflage right into the scenery.
Congratulations, Liz! Thank you for letting me capture your special bond with Ember and Maya.
