Goodbye, see you later, until we meet again...
They are some of the hardest words and phrases to hear, it's even harder being the one making the call. Owning animals of any kind isn't for the faint of heart. The worst part is when making the call to lay them down for eternal rest. It is the most respectful and loving thing we can do for our best friends.
In the early spring when there are spring showers, birds chirping and grass growing, Tori was faced with the hard decision to give Opie his final rest. He didn't have the best life but Tori saw him as diamond in the rough while looking for a pasture mate for one of her horses. After arriving at the farm, soon Opie was enjoying the life of a school pony toting all the bright eyed, horse loving kids around during their lessons. Seeing some of the kids who enjoyed him say their goodbyes was absolutely heart wrenching. Even in his final days Opie was proud and never resisted a treat or to nudge the kids as if to say it will all be okay I promise. He was rare, one of a kind and judging by the images and emotions felt that day he's leaving everyone with a big hole in their hearts.
Rest in Peace Opie.
